Public Service

The Lakehead Amateur Radio Club Inc. provides radio communications volunteer support to local and area public events without charge.
In most cases the use of our area repeaters provide excellent radio coverage for emergency, message and information transmissions for the event.

The network of operators also are capable of providing Provincial and National Emergency organization assistance with the use of different frequencies on home and club radio facilities. Most have emergency backup power capabilities should a major power outage and or major commercial communications failures occur. Amateur Radio operators prove to be invaluable in keeping communication paths open even in extremely hard hit areas.
